RAFFLED - June 2, 2018. The winner of the 1969 Pontiac Trans Am was Guy Corazzin (MO)!

"Saying good-bye to such a beautiful car is hard for me,” according to Father Matt Keller, founder of V8s for Vocations.

Each year, Father Matt and a group of volunteer car enthusiasts restore a classic muscle car. V8s raffles off the restored vehicle to support the education of priests for the Diocese of Gallup which is the poorest in America.

On June 2, 2018, Guy Anthony Corrazin won a completely restored 1978 Pontiac Trans AM. Father Matt noted that “this starlight black Pontiac has the T-top roof, snowflake wheels and is similar to the Trans AM Burt Reynolds drove in Smokey and the Bandit.”

Mr Corrazin lives in Lake Lotawana, Missouri located west of Kansas City. When Father Matt contacted Mr. Corrazin, he exclaimed, “I had a red Trans AM in college. I am very happy to win such a great car and I will fly to New Mexico next week to pick it up.”

“We want to thank everyone who participated in the raffle and supported V8s for Vocations. This raffle supports men in our seminaries who will soon become priests for the Diocese of Gallup,” Father Keller stated. This year’s Raffle raised over $165,000 to help future students.”

With the help of dozens of volunteers and some donated equipment, Fr. Keller turned a large garage in the back of Sacred Heart Cathedral into a hot rod shop. Before becoming a priest, Father Matt worked on cars while attending vocational school.

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and showed their support!
